UPDATE: ABC Charity raises £100,000
This year Cripps Sears & Partners is delighted that four members of staff have volunteered to tackle the vertiginous heights of the South African mountains on foot – for our Action for Burns in children (ABC) charity. Through a series of fundraising events including a Mexican Feast, a Hungarian delicatessen selection and sponsored cups of tea, the group have been edging ever closer to their sponsorship targets.
Our team will be joined by others from the UK and by the group known as the Phoenix Flyers who are yet again committing 11 people to the ‘bike ride’ and are making the arduous journey from Perth, Western Australia, to Cape Town and back. Their journey represents a challenge in its own right since it is via Johannesburg. It is fantastic that so many have committed to the trip.
Cripps Sears & Partners were pleased to meet clients, friends and supporters of ABC for our first Annual Charity Golf Day at the prestigious Burhill Golf Club in Surrey. We took to the ‘New Course’ of at leafy, parkland golf club in four-balls, competing in teams on a glorious sunny September day.
Knowing that we were all raising money for a good cause made for a convivial atmosphere, although with all teams finishing on a very tricky par 3 18th hole in full view of the clubhouse, some competitive streaks were amusingly observed!
A commendable landmark was reached recently as the charity has reached a total of £100,000 so far raised for the children affected by burns. For those who have the opportunity to visit the Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town it will be immediately clear how far this money has gone and what a positive impact it has made.
Good luck to all with their final training and sponsorship!
