Inaugural West Africa Oil & Gas Roundtable Forums in Lagos.

Cripps Sears has long been associated with Oil & Gas, Natural Resources and Infrastructure recruitment in Africa and invited senior executives and HR professionals to attend two round table events in Lagos.Cripps Sears & Partners, alongside its own global presence in London, Houston, Dubai, Singapore, Perth and Paris, is part of the Agillium Network of executive search firms. Through this network, Cripps Sears & Partners has formed a close relationship with its local Gulf of Guinea partners in Nigeria (Lagos) and Ghana, Michael Stevens Consulting. They were held as part of Cripps Sears’ strategy of strengthening ties with African and Africa investing businesses locally. Cripps Sears & Partners, over the last 40 years, has undertaken a number of successful searches both in Africa more broadly, and specifically in Nigeria, for Energy companies particularly.

We invited Country and Regional Managers in addition to Country HR and Regional HR professionals from investing E+P and Service Companies in Nigeria from both our own network and from outside of our network.  The forums were arranged over two days and hosted by our Managing Director and founder Mike Cripps supported by Francis Kudaya of Michael Stevens Consulting. The forums were very well attended by individuals from both operator and service company organisations headquartered both in Nigeria and those outside of Africa investing in to Nigeria.

The key themes discussed during these talks were: the challenges to growth and the challenges of resourcing indigenous players, human capacity development challenges to comply with local content laws, PIB challenges, attracting new investment to the Nigerian O+G industry, security and community issues in Oil producing areas and it’s implication on production, amongst others.

The minutes of both forums are due to be published shortly. The forums operate Chatham House rules, which allows for open and honest discussion without fear of repercussion making the discussions interesting and engaging.

Mike Cripps, Managing Partner commented “It is so exciting for us to be able to contribute at the front end of Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure developments and to be able bring a companies together who face common challenges and share ideas to create solutions”.
