Cripps Sears Update

Cripps Sears has continued to grow in the last six months, developing its Legal and Energy practice groups through three important hires.

Gareth Parry has joined the Energy team as a Principal Consultant. Gareth’s search experience has been primarily in the industrial and energy sectors where he has completed assignments both in the UK and internationally across many
management functions and up to board level. Gareth joins from Norman Broadbent to work with clients in the energy sector but he will also work closely with the property/construction and legal teams.

Cripps Sears has also recruited Lucy Watts and Kelly Watson to its research team. Lucy, a fluent Russian speaker, joins the research team to provide support on projects across the firm’s practice groups, with a particular focus on roles based in the FSU. Kelly is South African and a qualfied lawyer, having practised in Johannesburg. She joins the company to provide research support to the legal team recruiting partners for law firms and senior inhouse
counsel for companies in key focus industries such as energy and construction.

Succession Planning

Andrew Somerville has taken partnership in the business and has become a major shareowner of Cripps Sears, alongside Mike Cripps, Managing Partner and other minority shareholders. This reflects Andrew’s success in building and developing the firm’s legal practice and his increasing participation in the firm’s management.

Global resources

Cripps Sears has established a dedicated team of Russia and CIS specialists as a result of increasing instructions coming from the region. The team includes two Russian speakers, who will work across the core Practice Groups in energy, legal, finance, property/construction and TMT. The firm’s expertise in those sectors has obvious relevance given the levels of activity in those
areas in the region. Consultants have been spending increasing amounts of time in the region, particularly in Russia and have recently undertaken a survey of Russian expatriates working in the oil and gas sector.

Cripps Sears is an active and enthusiastic member of the World Search Group, an international strategic alliance of independent executive search firms with members around the world. We look forward to the Group’s AGM in September, which this year is to be held in Warsaw.
