Software firm Wipro has formed a forward-thinking new group designed to work across its three main business areas to develop new initiatives.
The Economic Times reports the company is to link development across its consumer care product, lighting and infrastructure engineering divisions with the new programme.
Wipro has named the innovation the Global Program Team, to be headed up by T K Kurien, who was previously in charge of the firm's BPO services.
The newspaper says: "Mr Kurien is credited with making the BPO arm, which was largely a voice-play when it acquired Spectramind, into more of a value-added services player."
Other changes at Wipro include a dismantling of its business team with all units now reporting to the joint chief executive officers (CEOs).
Five specific business units will form the new structure, which include manufacturing and healthcare, energy and utilities, retail and transportation services, communication, media and technology and financial services.
Last month the firm also announced it was appointing two new joint CEOs, Suresh Vaswani and Girish Paranjpe, for its IT business.
