A "new generation" national law firm with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, London, Taunton and Southampton.  With a turnover of c.£50 million, over 80 partners and over 600 people in total, the firm is of the UK's most substantial law firms.  The firm has a specialist team of lawyers experienced in renewable energy and has clients operating in  the electricity, gas, waste recycling, renewable energy and the water markets. Its work is multinational and covers a range of needs from property, planning, construction, commercial, employment, corporate and finance.

Location: Bristol / Birmingham / London

Job Emphasis: the firm seeks to recruit a senior lawyer to join its dynamic and highly ambitious renewable energy team.  In particular, the firm wishes to enhance its capability to provide commercial, environmental and/or regulatory advice in relation to renewable energy including wind, waste-to-energy and biofuels projects. In particular the firm seeks additional expertise in acquisitions, disposals, portfolio management, power purchase agreements, offtake agreements and possibly emissions trading and climate change matters.

The ideal candidate will be highly competent, prominent and well-respected lawyer with a focus within the energy sector.  He/she will complement the  motivated, positive and proactive approach of the team.  He/she will lead marketing and business development activities in order to develop and expand his/her own and the firm's client base.  He/she must have the vision, ability and desire to contribute to the continued development of the Renewable Energy Team into a UK market-leader.  All this, coupled with enthusiasm, confidence, and dedication to success.
