Private equity chief jumps ship

One of Travers Smiths' top private equity bankers is to move Bridgepoint Capital, it has been announced.
Charles Barter, who established Travers Smiths in 1996, will move to Bridgepoint to take on the new role of general counsel to the company.
Speaking about his new role at the company, Mr Barter said: "Whilst I am very excited about my new role at Bridgepoint, I leave Travers Smith with great sadness."
"It has been a wonderful firm to work for and I know it will continue to go from strength to strength."
Managing partner Chris Carroll also commented on Mr Barter's exit: "While we are all tremendously sorry to be losing him, we would obviously hope and expect that his appointment will help firm up what is already a strong and longstanding relationship with an important client."
Mr Barter will begin his new post at Bridgepoint in October, it has been confirmed.
