Martin Searle Solicitors is increasing the size of its employment law team, it has been revealed.

The firm, which is now in its fourth year, has appointed Stuart Markless as an employment law case worker.

Meanwhile, a new legal secretary has been appointed in the shape of Lucy Carpenter, suggesting Martin Searle is unconcerned about reports suggesting legal firms could suffer given the current state of the housing market.

"The employment team's caseload is growing all the time," commented Martin Searle Solicitors director Fiona Martin.

"It's great to have recruited someone with as much experience as Stuart. With Stuart on board we will be able to continue to deliver the high quality advice and support we are known for. It's also important to have specialist secretarial support from someone with Lucy’s experience and calibre."

Mr Markless joins Martin Searle from London-based Pattinson & Brewer.

He has also previously worked as an employment law supervisor at the Brighton & Hove Citizens Advice Bureau.
